Caught up trying to call two different people dad
Dads are interesting
Moms are just who I am and all that I could ever be
Dads accidentally kill people in snowmobiles and build subways in Washington where 40 years later your future kitchen husband asks you out and then you have a baby which is why you got married in the first place
Dads were in Boy Scouts where they went camping like you did
And they teach you to always have a lot of stuff in your truck just in case
And they know that doing random acts of kindness might just make them feel better about failing themselves
Dads teach you that religion is fluid and that maybe you should question the status quo and teach yourself everything you can get your hands on instead of settling for what you've been taught to know
Dads are. Dads look at what needs to be done next more than what should have been done, because when they were children they were taught to never show shame and to only stand tall.
Dads might suffer from this because it makes them more quiet or more rebellious or more of a wreck than they ought to be, but when they talk it is listened to, and when what they say is judged, at least it isn't ignored.
Some dads might avoid women; but women should not be afraid to be like dads.
